Car Show Gets Fans Pumped For Season

Heritage Mall Car Show Brings Out Anticipation For New Season

Albany, Oregon- Despite it taking place on a single day anyone who attended the Saturday March 30th Heritage Mall Car Show in Albany could tell that everyone is ready to go racing. With well over a dozen cars placed throughout the beautiful facility shoppers and fans alike were very excited to see all of the racing machines on public display.

“This year we were only able to have a one day deal,” commented Chris Nofziger, General Manager of Willamette Speedway, “but despite that we had a bunch of people show up and support this thing and I got to thank them for that. It’s always fun to see fans get close up to these cars especially when the kids get to sit in them that really makes their day. Overall it was a good experience.”

Two awards were given out to the best appearing one for the cars and the other for the karts. Veteran driver Terry Hall of Dallas and the High Noon Special team would be awarded the best appearing car while third-generation driver Casey Starr from Sherwood would take home the trophy for the Karts.

Saturday April 6th will mark the Test and Tune play date at Willamette Speedway that is schedule to take place from 4:00 PM to Dusk. A practice for Sunday the 7th for the Karts is tentatively scheduled to take place but check the website for updates. Saturday April 13th is scheduled to be the first race of the season for the “Cabin Fever” Season Opener while the first point race will take place on the following weekend on the 20th.

The Willamette Speedway has operated since the 1960’s and is a facility where high car counts and great racing are the norm. The venue will host weekly action comprising of DIRTcar Late Models, IMCA Modifieds, Sportsman, Super Sports, Street Stocks, and Mini Trucks.
