Lebanon, Oregon- Willamette Speedway had a firecracker of a night of racing on Saturday, September 14th for the 2019 Farmers Cup. Six classes were on the card to tackle the 1/3-mile clay oval. Super Late Models, IMCA Modifieds, Super Sports, Street Stocks, and Micro Sprints were all in attendance. The Northwest Dwarf Cars also were on tap and are covered in a separate report.

Joey Tanner, from Portland, made a triumphant return to Willamette’s victory lane. He managed to chalk up his seventh victory at the facility this season. Scio’s Rob Campos posted an impressive runner-up finish followed by Lebanon teenager McLain Beaudoin, in third. Randy Boyd, the Lebanon based veteran, came across the wire in fourth over fifth finishing Doug Elkins, from Salem.

Dustin Cady duked it out once again battled it out for the win in the IMCA Modified ranks. The Albany racers have put on some great shows in the last few weeks. On this occasion, Dustin Cady inhabited the winner’s circle. It marked his third trip there during the current campaign. Bricen James was second and Cory Yeack, of Lebanon, hit the finish line in third. Double duty racers Steve Moore, of Scio, and Doug Elkins were fourth and fifth respectively.

The hot streak in the Super Sports continued for Steve Moore. Moore has put together three-consecutive wins in the B.J. Donofrio owned entry. Randy Barley, form Albany, was credited with second while Scotts Mills’ Vahn Stone placed third. Veteran racer Robert Mercer ended his evening in fourth with Battle Ground, Washington native Sonny Modaff getting fifth.

For the eighth time, this season Justin Evans has taken care of business in the Street Stock ranks. The Lebanon racer snapped accrued his first win since August 3rd. Phil Lovvorn, of Albany, put in a second-place effort while obtaining third was Kyndall Irvine, of Lebanon. Portland veteran Jody Tanner and Roger Schneider, of Albany, completed the top five finishing order in the fourth and fifth placement.

Lastly, the Micro Sprints made a rare appearance to Willamette. Forest Grove’s Greg Long managed to best the field while Jo Jo Batalgia, also of FG, was second. Corbett chauffeur Crystal Flath captured third rounding up the podium. Madyson Bigsby, from Banks, earned fourth while Carson, Washington traveler Paul Cengic was fifth.

Willamette Speedway will be rumbling the engines one last time before the conclusion of the schedule. Karts are tentatively slated for Friday, September 20th. Everything will come to a head on Saturday, the 21st for the Beer Cup presented by Peterson Machinery. Super Late Models, IMCA Modifieds, Super Sports, Sportsman, and Street Stocks will all be on hand. Also, the Big Sky Landscaping IMCA Stock Car Series and Wingless Sprint Series will be in attendance.

For Friday Pit Gates open at 2:00 PM, Front Gates 5:00, and Racing at 6:00. General Admission to watch in the grandstands is FREE. On Saturday, Front Gates open at 4:00 PM and Racing at starts at 5:00. Tickets are $14.00 for Adults, Seniors (62+)/Military/Juniors (13-17) $10.00, Youths (6-12) $5.00, and Kids (5 or Under) FREE with a Family Pass (2 Adults and up to 4 Youths) being offered for $35.00.
