Lebanon, Oregon- In addition to the Interstate Sprint Car Series inhabiting Willamette Speedway, on Friday July 27th, so would three local support divisions. The three classes were the IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sport Mods, and IMCA Stock Cars.

After seizing the lead on lap two, from McMinnville’s Mike Sweere, Justin Cady was the car to beat in the IMCA Modified division. Cady, who now resides in Halsey, blazed the trail despite four stoppages in the main. After the final restart on lap nineteen the field would hit some lapped traffic. It would be a crucial moment as Bricen James seized the initiative and passed Cady on lap twenty-eight. The Albany youngster, of James, held on for his third win of the 2018 season at Willamette.

In IMCA Sport Mod action Buddy McHargue took control of the top spot early. Shortly after a lap five caution Jorddon Braaten made his way past McHague for the lead. After securing the position on the sixth circuit Braaten motored right along to the win untouched. It would be the Central Point native’s fifth win at the historic 1/3-mile clay oval.

Dakota Godard, of Albany, got the party started right off the bat in the IMCA Stock Cars. However, Gresham veteran Kevin Roberts sailed past him on lap eight only for Godard to take it right back on the ninth trip around the park. Kevin Roberts would make the decisive maneuver on lap eleven and went on to win his first IMCA Stock Car race of the campaign.

Willamette Speedway is right back at it for the Rick Barnes Memorial on Saturday, July 28th. The historic 1/3-mile clay oval will pay tribute to the late Rick Barnes who was a longtime track worker for several decades and was known for wearing his iconic "Jason" mask in turn three. Super Late Models, IMCA Modifieds, Super Sports, Sportsman, Street Stocks, and Hornets are all on the lineup.

Front Gates open at 3:00 PM with Racing around 6:00. Tickets are $14.00 for Adults, Junior/Military/Senior $10.00, Youth (6-12) $5.00, 5 and Under FREE, and a Family Pass (2 Adults and up to 4 Youths) $35.00.
