TRASH CAR RULES

" Stock Class - Front wheel drive, 4 cylinder 2000 cc or less, with the exception of the Dodge Omni, which is a 2.2
" Modified Class- Front wheel drive, V6, or any 4 cylinder over 2000cc.

The following rules apply to both classes:

" Cars must be stock appearing, no trimming of body parts.
" All glass except for the front windshield, molding, emblems, head, tail and marker lights must be removed. Screws or any other objects that might end up on the arena floor or track surface must be removed also.
" Any car dragging debris which the flagman or officials consider a hazard to the fans or other drivers will be black flagged. Example: bumper, broken axle, loose hood.
" Any driver driving in a reckless manner which the flagman considers to be dangerous will be black flagged. No drivers door contact.
" Fuel- cars should only have as much fuel as needed to complete the event. Do not top off fuel tanks- keep to a minimum.
" No reinforcement of any kind.
" No mirrors
" Battery must be tied down tight- no bungee straps.
" No studded tires
" No weight added to the car
" Car must be vacuumed clean of debris
" Good helmet, long sleeve shirt and pants required. No cut offs or shorts.
" Roll over post located behind drivers seat bolted to the floor and bolted to the roof.
" Doors must be chained shut; this will lessen the chances of doors popping open during the event.

Car Numbers- Car numbers should be on the driver door, passenger door and roof. Number on the roof should have bottom of number on the passenger side with the top of the number towards the driver side. Numbers should be large and bold. This is for the driver's benefit; numbers that can't be read by the scorekeeper are difficult to track on the score sheet. One could actually win a race but if the car number is not readable, you could possibly not be scored.

Recommendations:

We recommend all drivers have full face helmets, fire suit, neck brace, gloves, driver's door protection and fuel cell: However, it is not required.
Options:

" 4 post cage allowed. No reinforcement forward or backward of 4 post.
" Driver's door protection. Example: 1x3 tubing inside front fender well to inside rear fender well must have four bolts 3/8 inch or longer with plastic lock nuts, two in driver's door, one in each fender. No welding.

It is the intent of TMSI to keep the trash car class and events inexpensive, exciting and safe for all involved. However, it is also our intent to protect the racing facilities which we use. If at any time or during the event we feel you or your car is a detriment to the sport, TMSI, your fellow driver's or the facilities, we reserve the right to refuse or terminate service.
