Lebanon, Oregon- Willamette Speedway got back to racing on Saturday, May 12th for Ladies Night. The grandstands would be packed for another action-packed installment to the 2018 race season. Division racing included the Super Late Models, IMCA Sport Mods, Super Sports, Street Stocks, and Hornets.

Joey Tanner would be in prime form in the Super Late Model ranks. Running for car owner Jerry Schram the Portland native would have an incredible eleven-second margin of victory and lapped all the way up to third place.

Coming across the line in second would be Lebanon’s Casey Vitale while getting third was fellow Lebanon racer Dan Deibele. Darren Coffell, of Bend, was fourth, followed by La Pine’s Trent Elliott, in fifth.

Another strong contingent of IMCA Sport Mods would fall upon Willamette Speedway. Daniel Ray, of Springfield, would show the way early but around the midway point he would lose the lead shortly after a restart to Justin McCreadie. Once the top spot was secured McCreadie, of Phoenix, would pull away from the rest of the field and claim the win.

Jorddon Braaten, from Central Point, ended his evening in second with Daniel Ray holding on to third. Bruce Ray, of Amity, got fourth over fifth finishing Medford’s Braxton Possinger.

The Super Sport feature would be a non-stop affair. Randy Barley, of Albany, would hold down the first-place position the entire distance. However, he would receive strong challenges from Toledo’s Jordan Wright and Chris Mott, of Salem. Barley managed to keep all of them in check to win his first race of the season.

Chris Mott and Jordan Wright were second and third respectively. Salem drivers Doug Elkins, who was fourth, and fifth place driver, Dave Miller, completed the top five.

It would be another thriller in the Street Stocks. Joey Tardio, hailing from Cornelius, put forth a strong effort for much of the main event. He would cruise about the 1/3-mile clay oval pacing the field from the drop of the green flag to the presentation of the white banner.

On the final circuit Kyle Yeack, of Lebanon, would muster enough steam to reel in Tardio and make it a drag race to the finish. At the wire Yeack would prevail by a narrow 0.020 second at the line.

Joey Tardio placed a respectable second with Mulino’s Shannon Horn behind him, in third. Steve Moore would drive Jody Tanner’s mount to a fourth-place result while Corvallis chauffeur Dakota Godard got fifth.

Lastly in Hornet competition it would be pure domination by Eddie Farness. Farness would lead from flag to flag to pick up his first career victory. Tahlan Rodgers recorded a second-place finish followed by Graig Osborne, in third. The rest of the top five would consist of Eugene’s Brad Moffett and Devon Traslavina, respectively in fourth and fifth.
