Lebanon, Oregon- Willamette Speedway put on some great races during Independence Day weekend on Saturday, July 6th. In fact, three of the five main events winners paid their first visits to victory lane when the night was all said and done. The five classes on the card included the Super Late Models, Super Sports, Sportsman, Street Stocks, and Hornets.

Rob Mayea, of Bend, scored a big win in the Super Late Model division making it his first trip to victory lane. B.J. Donofrio was back in the winner’s circle in the Super Sport ranks. It is the Salem team’s sixth triumph in the current campaign. After a roller coaster season defending Sportsman track champ Ryan Emry, of Corvallis, got the breakthrough he had been looking for all year long for his first triumph in 2019.

Lebanon’s Mikey Burnham put on one heck of a performance in the Street Stock division to collect his initial victory of the season. While most classes produced many new faces finishing first there was a familiar profile on the front stretch at the end of the night. Sandy’s Eddie Farness scored his eighth Hornet win in the class.

Willamette Speedway returns for a rare mid-week bout on Wednesday, July 10th, for the return of Speedweek Northwest. The track will have 360 Sprint Car teams travelling from Oregon, Washington, California, and British Columbia Canada to the historic 1/3-mile clay oval.
